Two new species for the area included Black Rustic and Acleris laterana. The Single-dotted Wave was the first record for many weeks.

August 10th Red Hill
Summary : Clear skies and warm. Temperature dropping to 16C. Trap was run from 21:15-23:15h. Total catch was 208 moths of 42 species. The evening saw the trapping of the area's first Dark Sword-grass, along with increasing numbers of other migrants - Silver Y's and a single Diamond-back Moth. The Olive is Grade 3 listed in Nottinghamshire and there was the fifth Pine Hawk-moth of the year. Two potentially quite rare species trappped were Calamotropha paludella (a largely fenland species with a south-easterly bias in the UK) and Eucosma obumbratana. There was also another good showing of Water Veneer at the trap.
