Silver Y Autographa gamma (Linnaeus, 1758)
Status .....A generally common and occasionally abundant migrant to all parts of Nottinghamshire. Arrival from late April or May, with moths regular until late October or early November. Often several influxes of Continental migrants in good Silver Y years.

Nottinghamshire (VC56) distribution of Silver Y
The accompanying graph is produced from our own records since 2004 and shows that Silver Y arrival occurs from May (occasionally late April) onwards. Peak numbers of return migrants can be expected in August and September.
