May 31st Red Hill
Summary : Clear and feeling mild. A good catch of 69 moths of 20 species in 1h 45m trapping time (21:55-23:40h) Temperature 10 - 7.5C.
 
May 30th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and feeling mild. A good catch of 96 moths of 27 species in 1h 50m trapping time (21:55-22:50h) Temperature 10 - 8C.
 
May 23rd Red Hill
Summary : Partially clear and very mild. An excellent night's catch, consisting of 327 moths of 66 species in a total of 4h 25m trapping time (21:50-02:15h) Temperature 16 - 13.5C. On what was one of the year's warmest nights, four new species for the area included the micros Cochylis atricapitana, Epiblema trimaculana and Incurvaria oehlmanniana, whilst a Poplar Grey was perhaps, an overdue macro addition. There was also a second record of Bird's Wing, following on from one at almost the same trapping site in 2006. Overall, this was the best May trapping session ever at Eakring and lasted nearly four and a half hours.

May 22nd Red Hill
Summary : Clear and feeling mild. A good catch of 99 moths of 29 species in 2h 35m trapping time (21:45-00:00h) Temperature 11 - 6.5C. Campion was a long overdue addition to the area list and moths were continuing to arrive at light as we packed up.
 
May 21st Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and feeling mild. A catch of 41 moths of 14 species in 2h 35m trapping time (21:50-00:05h) Temperature 10 - 6.5C. A rather poor night, although the temperature fell to minimum quickly after dark.
 
May 20th Lound Wood
Summary : Partly overcast and mild. A catch of 88 moths of 28 species in 2h 35m trapping time (21:30-00:05h) Temperature 10 - 6.5C.
 
May 17th Red Hill
Summary : Clear and mild. A catch of 62 moths of 28 species in 2h 00m trapping time (21:30-23:30h) Temperature 14 - 12.5C.
 
May 15th Red Hill
Summary : Overcast and mild. A catch of 46 moths of 26 species in 2h 00m trapping time (21:30-23:30h) Temperature 10 - 9C. Many new species were taken for the first time this year.
 
May 14th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and becoming cool. A catch of 13 moths of 8 species in 1h 00m trapping time (21:30-22:30h) Temperature 9 - 7C.
 
May 12th Lound Wood
Summary : Partly overcast and mild, with skies clearing. A catch of 67 moths of 23 species in 2h 15m trapping time (21:15-23:30h) Temperature 12 - 8C. Scrobopalpa acuminatella was new for the area.
 
May 10th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild. A catch of 97 moths of 32 species in 3h 00m trapping time (21:15-00:15h) Temperature 12 - 10.5C. An increase in the number of species/moths on the wing. Chamomile Shark was an unexpected addition to the area ist, arriving at the light late on during the session
