Pine Beauty Panolis flammea ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Status .....A beautiful moth with two distinct colour forms, as illustrated. Regular to MV light at several Sherwood Forest sites and across much of Nottinghamshire, although in our experience, never recorded in any numbers at any one time. It is less reported along the Trent Valley and from sites east of the Trent. Should be expected to occur in the vicinity of Pines, especially north of Nottingham.
