May 30th Lound Wood
Summary : Partly overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 39 moths in 1h 30m trapping time (22:05-00:05h) Temperature 10.5C. Catch produced second record of Tawny-barred Angle.
 
May 26th Red Hill
Summary : Lightly overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 64 moths in 2h 00m trapping time (22:05-00:05h) Temperature 10.5C. Numbers of Silver-ground Carpet emerged during the last 24 hours, along with Brimstone.
 
May 24th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and very mild. Catch consisted of 72 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (21:50-23:50h) Temperature 12.5C. A warm night which produced many firsts for the year.
         
May 18th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 29 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (22:05-23:05h) Temperature 9C. Few moths despite a mild evening. Lesser Swallow Prominent, White-spotted Pug and Scoparia ambigualis were new for the year.
         
May 15th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 44 moths in 1h 30m trapping time (21:50-23:20h) Temperature 13C>10.5C. A much improved catch on the warmest night for weeks. Many new species appeared for the first time this year, but moth numbers were still well down in general.
 
May 3rd Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and mild.Catch consisted of just 22 moths in 1h 10m trapping time (21:30-22:00h) Temperature 16.5C>13C. New micros for 2005 included Monopis laeviella (Skin Moth) and Syndemis musculana.
 
April 30th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 45 moths in 1h 50m trapping time (21:05-22:55h) Temperature 15C > 11.5C. New species continue to appear, including four Least Black Arches, Garden Carpet and Common Pug.
 
April 28th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild. Catch consisted of just 18 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (20:50-21:50h) Temperature 10.5C. New species now starting to appear.
 
April 25th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 29 moths in 1h 20m trapping time (20:50-21:10h) Temperature 8.5C. Ocnerostoma friesei was new for the area.
 
April 21st Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and cool. Catch consisted of 20 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (20:40-21:40h) with the temperature dropping to 6C. Lunar Marbled Brown was new for the year.
 
April 11th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild, but feeling cooler in breezy conditions. Catch consisted of 33 moths in 1h 15m trapping time (20:20-21:35h) Temperature 11C dropping slightly to 10C. Several species new for 2005 and first migrant of the year.

April 2nd Lound Wood
Summary : Lightly overcast and initially fairly mild. Breezy. Catch consisted of 44 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (20:00-21:00h) Temperature 11C dropping quickly to 6.5C.
 
March 24th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and mild. Catch consisted of 59 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (19:10-20:10h) Temperature 9C. An increase in numbers and species on the previous trapping session. Highlight was the Grey Shoulder-knot (5th area record) and an interesting micro species Schreckensteinia festaliella which is a new moth for the area. Shoulder Stripe and Early Thorn were both new for the year.
 
March 22nd Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild with some rain. Catch consisted of 56 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (18:50-19:50h) Temperature 13C. A rather disappointing catch considering the temperature, but this may have been due to rain earlier in the day.
 
March 18th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and mild. Catch consisted of 161 moths in 2h 00m trapping time (18:30-20:30h) Temperature 12C, falling to 8.5 by end of the session. The recent warm temperatures have obviously encouraged large numbers of moths to emerge, most noticably Brindled Pug, Small Quaker and Engrailed
 
March 15th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially cloudy and mild but occasionally windy. Catch consisted of 44 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (18:45-19:45h) Temperature mild and still 10.5C by the end of the session. First Brindled Pugs and Engrailed of the year.
 
March 14th Lound Wood
Summary : Cloudy and fairly mild, then rain. Catch consisted of 24 moths in 0h 35m trapping time (18:40-19:15h) Temperature at dusk was a 8.5C. First Double-striped Pugs and Twin-spotted Quaker of the year also represented earliest-ever dates.
 
March 7th Lound Wood
Summary : Cloudy and fairly mild. Catch consisted of an excellent 90 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (18:25-19:25h) Temperature at dusk was a 8C, dropping to 5.5C after an hour. Immediately upon switching on the light, numerous Chestnuts began arriving (this is by far the largest number ever taken at light here) This may have been due to the end of a lengthy cold spell, with sub-zero night-time temperatures? First Clouded Drab and A. heracliana of the year. Most moths arrived at the trap within the first 40 minutes, after which only odd individuals turned up as the temperature dropped.
 
February 17th Lound Wood
Summary : Cloudy and fairly mild at dusk. Occasional light rain throughout. Although the catch consisted of just 37 moths in 1h 00m trapping time (17:40-18:40h) Temperature at dusk was a 8C, dropping to 7C after an hour, but much colder conditions were forcasted for the evening. An important Nottinghamshire record came with a second Red Sword-grass for the area. Just one March Moth this evening, yet 11 were trapped on February 16th 2004, though conditions were extremely mild on that night.
 
February 3rd Lound Wood
Summary : .Partially cloudy, still and mild. Catch consisted of 87 moths in 1h 30m trapping time (17:30-19:00h) Temperature at dusk was a mild 9C. Spring Usher was finally added to area list, with four males coming to light. First Dotted Border, B. decolorella and E. monodactyla of the year.
 
January 31st Lound Wood
Summary : .Partially cloudy, becoming clear. Breezy and mild. Catch consisted of 28 moths in 1 hour trapping time (17:20-18:20h) Temperature at dusk was 9C, but started to drop thereafter.
