March Moth Alsophila aescularia ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Status .....A widespread and common moth in Nottinghamshire, flying early in the year. It is often one of the most common moths anywhere across the  Sherwood Forest area during March and April, but will also occur away from woodland and is regular at suburban gardens. A recently emerged example is showed in the lower photographs.
