May
10th. ...Lound Wood
|
Summary
: Clear and
warm . A catch of 59 moths of 28 species in 2h
15m trapping time (21:25-23:40h) Temperature
18-16C. An excellent evening's trapping with the
highlights being two Pale Pinions (the 3rd and
4th Eakring records) which follow the two moths
trapped in 2006. It also shows that this species
must be breeding in the area now. Pale Pinion
first turned up in Nottinghamshire in 2006, when
we trapped the county's first. Another Oak
Nycteoline adds to others were have trapped here
since 2007, with Lound Wood probably representing
the best site for this moth in the county at the
moment. A Flame Carpet represented the area's
600th species. |
