Wood Tiger Parasemia plantaginis (Linnaeus, 1758)
Status .....There are no modern records of Wood Tiger for Nottinghamshire and the only known county records have all come prior to J.W. Carr's book 'The Invertebrate Fauna of Nottinghamshire. Nottingham: J.& H. Bell Ltd (1916)'. Colonisisation, or even any future records has to be considered unlikely, but the trend of releasing captive-bred stock into the wild, will always pour doubt on any future record.
