Tree-lichen Beauty Cryphia algae  (Fabricius, 1775)
Status .....Recorded as new to Nottinghamshire in 2018, when one was trapped at Carlton on 27th July by Andy Adcock. There were no records the following year, but in July and August 2020, there was evidence of continued northerly range expansion with multiple records from neighbouring counties. The one in the photographs, was trapped by Dave Morton and Andy Ashley at Budby Pumping Station on 9th August 2020, with one recorded by Rob and Jill Carlyle at 'Cordwood' near Bestwood on the same night. Both these moths followed others taken previously at Radcliffe-on-Trent (Freestone, R. and Dulwich, P.). Grateful thanks go to Dave Morton, for retaining and offering the moth for photographing and inclusion here.
