Herald Scoliopteryx libatrix (Linnaeus, 1758)
Status .....Fairly common in Nottinghamshire, but never very frequently attracted to MV light. Over-winters as an adult in caves, railway tunnels, cellars and outbuildings etc. In January 2023, approximately 50 individual moths were found over-wintering in an old railway tunnel situated along a former mineral line in the north of Nottinghamshire.
