Small Elephant Hawk-moth Deilephila porcellus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Status .....Usually trapped in small numbers at sites in the Sherwood Forest area, but this moth seems to have increased across the county in the past 20years and it is now almost annual in many people's garden traps. The one photographed below, was trapped at the Idle Valley NR in 2014, and brought to us by Phil Cadman and Ian Hunt of the Lound Moth Group for inclusion here.
