Ringed China-mark Parapoynx stratiotata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Status .....Despite being regarded nationally as common, this moth seems to be anything but common in Nottinghamshire, based on the records we have at our disposal. Found at either end of the county, the only sites we know of where this moth occurs are in the Misterton and Holme Pierrepont areas, but it is presumed to be more widespread. Our thanks go to Tim Sexton who very kindly allowed us to use his photograph below, to illustrate the species.
