Red Underwing Catocala nupta (Linnaeus, 1767)
Status .....Widespread but not entirely common in many part of Nottinghamshire. Most of our own records have come from finding this moth during the day, when at rest on the walls of buildings. We have several such records from the old walls of Worksop Priory. There are a good number of records from the Idle Valley NR, in the north of the county.
