Pinion-spotted Pug Eupithecia insigniata (Hübner, 1790)
This is a rare moth in Nottinghamshire, especially from sites away from the Bestwood village area, where most of the county's records originate from. A summary of those records, shows that most records have come from the Bestwood village area, following one from Bunny village in 2005 (Marchant, M.).

The collection of Bestwood records for Pinion-spotted Pug includes Bestwood village annually between 2015 and 2019 (all Tobin, S.), when there was another from nearby Lamins Lane, Bestwood (Carlyle, R. and Carlyle, J.) that same year. More recent records have come from Stanton-on-the-Wolds in the very south of the county (Mathers, S.) and again from Bestwood village (Tobin, S.) in 2020. In 2023 there were again records from the Bestwood area, including Lamins Lane again (Carlyle, R. and Carlyle, J.), with another from the Bestwood area in 2023 (Sears, H.D.).
