Phyllonorycter muelleriella (Zeller, 1839)
Status .....A rare leaf miner in the UK and a moth of ancient woodlands. It's perhaps surprising that the discovery of this moth at Sherwood Forest in 2020 has taken so long, but for some reason, the recording of leaf mining moths at Sherwood was rarely done even by Victorian entomologists. But this seems to be a rare moth, even though we have recorded leaf mines for many years. The one illustrated, was found on a small Oak growing in quite shaded conditions under mature Oaks.
