Phyllocnistis extrematrix (Martynova, 1955)
Only discovered new to the UK In July 2025 (Langdon, W.) and within days, records of this predominantly stem and leaf petiole miner, were soon coming from other Vice Counties. Pretty much within a week of being alerted to the discovery, and after it was found in South Lincolnshire (Lamin, J.), Nick and Samantha Brownley found Nottinghamshire's first record at Rainworth on Populus balsamifera, growing at the former Rufford Colliery site on August 8th 2025 and then it was also found at Thorney (Gray, M.).

Currently, mines have only been found at very low density and are found on young, suckering Poplars, or fresh, vigourous regrowth. This includes both Lombardy and Black Poplar. It doesn't seem to occur on Grey or White Poplar.
