Phtheochroa schreibersiana (Frölich, 1828)
This potential RDB1 moth, was found new to Nottinghamshire at Stoke Bardolph in June 2025, by Nick and Samantha Brownley and is quite an addition to the county list. For many years, Phtheochroa schreibersiana was thought to be extinct in the UK, until recorded from Buckinghamshire in 2010, but since then, there have been a handful of records nationally. There were three records in 2017, with more the following year from southern counties including Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Wiltshire (per UK Moths website), the moth being new to several counties at the time. The Stoke Bardolph record is probably the UK's most northerly at the current time.

The larvae feed on Black Poplar, Bird Cherry and Elm and the adults spend most of the time at the tops of trees, being found lower down during periods of bad weather.
