Nemaxera betulinella (Paykull, 1785)
Status .....A rare moth in Nottinghamshire with very few records, but not common nationally either. There are recent records from Holborn Hill Plantation in May 2020, where the one illustrated was found resting on the trunk of Beech, and from Misson Carr in 2005. Larvae feed on the fungi Piptoperus betulinus (Birch Polypore) so it ought to be regular in the Sherwood Forest area, despite its status.
