Musotima nitidalis (Walker, [1866])
Yet another species arriving in the UK via the horticultural trade. Musotima nitidalis is very much on the increase, after having been first recorded in the UK as recently as 2009. There have been numerous records since and it was always expected to arrive in Nottinghamshire at some time. It is native to  Australia and New Zealand, and has been known as the Golden-brown Fern Moth and Marbled Fern, due to its association with Tree Ferns and others, including Bracken.

It was first recorded in Nottinghamshire by Martin Gray at Broadholme on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border on September 27th 2025, the record being quickly followed by the moth below, recorded at nearby Besthorpe NR on November 6th 2025 (Pendleton, T.A.).
