Status
.....Apparently a very rare moth in
Nottinghamshire, but there are reports that this moth may
be turning up in gardens more regularly, through the
increased use of ornamental Ericas (Heathers) in
gardens. As if to support this, the individual
photographed below, was trapped by Phil Cadman in his
suburban Worksop garden in August 2017, well away from
the nearest heathland. We only know of a single other
Nottinghamshire record, when one turned up in the
Rothamsted trap run at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre
in 1987 (Bee, L and
Parrack, J.D.). |
