Large Nutmeg Apamea anceps ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Status .....Uncommon in Nottinghamshire and largely restricted to sites lying along the Trent Valley, the east of the county where it borders Lincolnshire, with scattered records from suburban areas of Nottingham. The moth in the lower photograph was trapped at Misterton by Phil Lee and currently represents the most northerly Nottinghamshire record. Out thanks go to Phil for kindly allowing us to use his photograph.
