There appears to be no previous Nottinghamshire records of Mugwort
Plume, prior to the one illustrated being trapped by Paul Coombes at
Elkesley in September 2021. Hellinsia lienigianus is smaller
than the similarly marked and coloured Emmelina monodactyla,
which is the species most people are familar with, but Hellinsia
tephradactyla (Plain Plume) is another very similar species which
could cause identification difficulties, although is much rarer
nationally. Identification was confirmed by Martin Gray. |
