Gypsy Moth Lymantria dispar (Linnaeus, 1758)
Only recently recorded as new to Nottinghamshire, when a male was attracted to a pheremone trap for Silver Y on 14/08/2024 at a West Bridgford garden (Freestone, R.). Nationally, Gypsy Moth became extinct as a breeding species by 1900 and occurred here only as an occasional migrant to southern counties, but became established in the London area during the 1990's, even surviving an eradication attempt.
