Plum Fruit Moth Grapholita funebrana (Treitschke, 1835)
Despite the few grid squares on the distribution map provided for this moth, it is certainly a very much under-recorded species in Nottinghamshire. There are some difficulties in identification between this and other species, but it is easily attracted to artificial pheremone lures placed around stands of Blackthorn and in fruit orchards. The use of lures, should ultimately prove this moth is common. The one below was netted around Blackthorn by Phil Cadman and Ian Hunt at the Idle Valley NR in July 2021.
