Goat Moth Cossus cossus (Linnaeus, 1758)  
Status .....An extremely rare moth in Nottinghamshire, only being rediscovered in the county as recently as 2013. There have been several records since, all coming from the very north of the county, with the latest being the one illustrated below, which was trapped by Lound Moth Group members Ian Hunt and Melanie Newman on June 5th 2019.

Larvae have been recorded from Misson Carr on two occasions (Lee, P. Penson, M. and Wilde, I.), the last of which was as recently as 2024. Despite regular trapping for two years at Misson Carr, it has not been recorded to MV light there.
