Four-spotted Footman Lithosia quadra (Linnaeus, 1758)
This species has been on the Nottinghamshire list for many years, although any historical county records of this moth aren't traceable through the usual sources and there appears to be no modern (post-1990) records. Formerly regarded as a migrant species, it is now established in some south-western counties, with records away from those areas uncommon.

In 2025, there was a good arrival/movement of Four-spotted Footman in many southern counties of the UK and two Nottinghamshire records associated with the influx, came from Ploughman's Wood on 14/06/25 (Shields, T.) with another at Langford Lowfields on 17/06/25 (Morton, D. and Ashley, A.).
