Figure of Eighty Tethea ocularis (Hübner, 1786)
Status .....This moth seems to be rather uncommon in Nottinghamshire and based on the records we have been sent, certainly appears well scattered in Nottinghamshire and the distribution map would suggest a more generally common moth. Dilys and myself had no records of this moth from 2004, until one evenutally turned up at the garden MV light in 2023 and so are grateful to members of the Lound Moth Group, for providing the moth in the lower two photographs for illustration here.
