This is another of those moths which formerly only occurred in the
UK as migrants, but which have colonised some southern parts of the UK
and are now moving north. No doubt, in a few years time, this moth will
be a regular feature in the species lists at many light traps.
Nottinghamshire's
first record came from Roger Freestone's West Bridgford garden on
September 9th 2022 and there have since been a number of follow-up
records - from South Muskham on July 29th 2024
(Kennewell, M.), Broadholme on June 21st 2025 and another there on August
24th 2025 (Gray, M.), with others to
light at Keyworth on August 17th 2025 (Pinder,
N.) and four at Collingham on August 24th 2025
(Kennewell, M.). |
