Ectoedemia turbidella (Zeller, 1848)
Discovered new to Nottinghamshire in late October 2024, when leaf mines were found on the fallen leaves of Grey Poplar Populus canescens at Ollerton Pit Woods, adjacent to where Phyllonorycter comparella was also found new to the county, two years previously in 2022. Ectoedemia turbidella will no doubt have a limited distribution in Nottinghamshire, to those sites where Grey Poplar is present. The larvae initially mines the leaf petiole, before moving into the leaf where it creates a small blotch mine.
