Dotted Fan-foot Macrochilo cribrumalis ((Hübner, 1793)
Status .....Confirmed as new to Nottinghamshire by the county recorder, when a single specimen was attracted to MV light at Besthorpe GP on September 2nd 2024 (Pendleton, T.A.). Additional records have followed within relatively close proximity, with singles at Langford Lowfields on May 30th 2026 (Morton, D. and Ashley, A.), Broadholme on June 19th 2026 (Gray, M.), and another from Besthorpe NR on June 20th 2026 (Pendleton, T.A.), so it seems like the moth has become established in the very east of the county. In some parts of the country, this moth has reportedly increased over recent years, so would have been expected to occur here at some point.
