Cypress Pug Eupithecia phoeniciata (Rambur, 1834)
First recorded as new to Nottinghamshire as recently as 2021 when recorded on two occasions from a West Bridgford garden (Freestone, R.). This is another species which has been steadily expanding its range northwards in recent years and there have already been further records, with singles to light at East Bridgford (Jason and Lily Reece), Broadholme (Gray, M) and one (possibly two) at Bestwood village (Tobin, S.) in September 2022.

Appreciative thanks to Martin Gray (below left photograph) and Sean Tobin (below right) who allowed their photographs to be included here to illustrate the species.
