Cydia strobilella (Linnaeus, 1758) 
Sometimes called the  Spruce Seed Moth, Cydia strobilella was only recently recorded new to Nottinghamshire, when an adult emerged from Spruce cones (probably those of Picea breweriana) collected from Clumber Park by Samantha Batty in March 2026. More county records should soon follow and similarly collecting the cones of Spruce such as Picea abies and Picea breweriana, is likely to pay off, but there is a pheremone lure available (the STR lure) which should prove successful too. Grateful thanks to Samantha Batty, for providing the specimen photographed below.
