Cydia amplana (Hübner, [1799])
Recorded new to VC56 Nottinghamshire, when recorded by Martin Gray in his Broadholme garden on September 5th 2021. Formerley suspected of being a migrant species, Cydia amplana is now thought to have become established in some southern counties.

In early September 2021, there was a pronounced movement/dispersal of probable continental moths, which included the Broadholme moth at the time and there have been four other records since, with others to light at Radcliffe-on-Trent in 2024 (Dulwich, P.), Misterton on August 3rd 2026 (Lee, P.), another from Broadholme on August 4th 2026 (Gray, M.), Nottingham on August 11th 2026 (Hill, M.) and Langford Lowfields (2) on August 13th 2026 (Cornish, C. and Dawson, M.).
