Crescent Helotropha leucostigma (Hübner, 1808) .... Formerly known as Celaena leucostigma
Status ..... Generally confined to sites along the length of the Trent Valley, the Crescent far from being a common moth in Nottinghamshire. The moths illustrated below, include a particularly dark individual trapped by Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt and Martin Warne (lower two photographs) at the Idle Valley NR in July 2014, and one trapped at Langford Lowfields by Dave Morton and Andy Ashley (top photographs) in July 2024.
