Coleophora deauratella (Lienig and Zeller, 1846)
This seems an incommon moth in Nottinghamshire, but there are several other, similarly metallic, bronze coloured Coleophora, so it is important to check the detail in the antennae. This species has the antennae white-tipped, not ringed and the base is heavily clothed with scales. Coleophora alcyonipennella has similarly coloured antennae, but lacks the thick covering of scales at the base. Coleophora deauratella was only seperated from the visually identical C. frischella in 1976, but the latter species is only found in the south-west of the UK.
