Caloptilia honoratella (Rebel, 1914)
Status .....Only recorded new to Nottinghamshire in 2023, when the individual illustrated was netted flying near Sycamore by Graham Beeley on October 7th 2023 and the identity confirmed by Martin Gray the county micro moth recorder. Caloptilia honoratella was only very recently regarded as a rare migrant to the UK, with the first UK record coming from Surrey in 2017, but it seems to have colonised many counties now and is likely to become more regularly recorded in he coming years. Identification needs confirming by gen det. Many thanks to Graham Beeley for providing the opportunity to photograph the moth and to Martin Gray for confirming the ID.
