Brown Oak Tortrix Archips crataegana (Hübner, 1799)
Very much a moth with an unusual distribution across much of southern England, with the main concentration of records coming from Norfolk, Suffolk, Berkshire, up through Huntingdonshire and Leicestershire, but seemingly falling just short of Nottinghamshire. It was already on the Nottinghamshire species list, before the one below was caught in late June 2025.

There are also records from counties lying west of London, across to Somerset and Gloucestershire. The individual illustrated below, was recorded at MV light in the Red Hill area of Eakring, on a night of high moth activity.
