Welsh Clearwing Synanthedon scoliaeformis
Status .....Welsh Clearwing was first found on a Birch trunk by Sherwood Forest ranger Gary Joynt in July 2008 and represented an unexpected first ever record for Nottinghamshire. Further records followed in 2009, 2010 and 2011, including numerous adults and old exit holes. Survey work using pheremone lures have found this moth to be present throughout the Sherwood Forest NNR, though little work seems to have been done away from this area.
