Light Orange Underwing Boudinotiana notha (Hübner, 1803)
Status ..... Until very recently, not recorded or known from anywhere in Nottinghamshire since the publication of J.W.Carr's book 'The Invertebrate Fauna of Nottinghamshire. Nottingham: J.& H. Bell Ltd (1916)'. Nationally, Light Orange Underwing is restricted to southern and south-eastern parts of the UK, but it does occur in neighbouring Lincolnshire where the one below was photographed by John Lamin.

But in March 2026, a number of moths believed to be Orange Underwing Archiearis parthenias, were photographed at Rushcliffe Country Park (Mathers, S.), but were suspected as potentially being Light Orange Underwing (Mark Skevington). The suspicion proved correct, when specimens were netted and photographed the following day, with a male showing the feathered antennae of this species, which Orange Underwing doesn't have.
