As a breeding bird, Swallow is one of few species to have shown a decline since 1998, with loss of nesting habitat being the biggest cause here, as farm buildings are converted. Pairs still breed at all farms in the area and at both villages, but it is within the confines of Eakring village that some pairs have been lost to such developments. | |
