A good start to the month, with a Dunlin heard flying over the area during a moth trapping session at 00:10h in the early hours of the morning. | |||

One of the area's male Barn Owls, showed particularly well this evening. | |||

Finally some signs of movement this morning, the highlight being a Whimbrel moving west, just under the low cloud-base over Eakring Flash at 07:10h. Some gulls also continuing to move through, with a trickle of both Black-headed and Lesser Black-backed Gulls, plus the first Common Gull west. Hirundines included eight Swallow south and 16 Sand Martin south-east. | |||

A better
morning today, although the only birds of note were noted
almost immediately on getting out of the car, with two Common
Crossbills through high north-west at 07:00h. A Common
Sandpiper was another excellent record for here,
remaining at Eakring Flash till appearing to fly off at
08:10h. Numbers of warblers moving through are slowly increasing, mainly Whitethroats and Willow Warblers. |
