The area
remains very quiet at the moment, with only small numbers
of birds moving through occasionally. Even numbers of
Winter Thrushes are low, although there are several small
groups roaming the area. At least one Water Rail
is still at Eakring Flash. |

Good numbers
of Golden Plover and Lapwing in the Red Hill area today,
with counts of 219 Golden Plover and 257 Lapwing. |

A Water
Rail at Eakring Flash this morning and two Jack
Snipe at Penny Pasture Common, were the only
sightings of any real note today. |

Two Common
Buzzards were in the area this afternoon, at Eakring
Field Farm and around Eakring Flash. |

Three adult Whooper
Swan were a surprise this afternoon, flying low
east over Eakring Flash. Late Autumn and Winter records
of Whooper Swan records are rare here. |

90 Pink-footed
Geese flew east over Eakring Meadows this
morning, with one Jack Snipe and 21
Common Snipe around the Eakring Meadows area and a flock
of 50+ Linnet in fields between Penny Pasture Common and
Park Farm. A Peregrine was over Eakring

A drake Wigeon
was present on Eakring Flash this afternoon, along with
small numbers of Teal and Gadwall. |

A single Water
Rail was at Eakring Flash this morning. 11
Golden Plover and 56 Lapwing were in fields around the
Red Hill area. |
