Phyllonorycter platani (Staudinger, 1870)
Status .....Phyllonorycter platani appeared in London in 1989 and was noted in Leicestershire in 2006. Our first record came from Worksop in 2007, which may well be the first Nottinghamshire record. It has increased since, but at the moment appears to be confined to west Nottinghamshire. Searching the leaves of London Plane trees in any urban areas, will almost certainly reveal the leaf mines to be common.
