Orchard Ermine Yponomeuta padella
(Linnaeus, 1758) |
| Status
.....All the records we have are from
the north of the county, but this moth is probably found
over much of Nottinghamshire. The identification of all Yponomeuta
is notoriously difficult and this species has darker/grey forms which
can look like Willow Ermine Yponomeuta rorrella. The larvae are much easier and
can be safely identified by the hostplant, which include Blackthorn
Prunus spinosa, Hawthorn Crataegus monogyna and Damson
Prunus domestica. |
