Dioryctria abietella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Status .....There are few Nottinghamshire records of this moth, which is one of four diffcult to identify species. All four Dioryctrias are similarly marked and coloured, so identification is difficult from photographs and sometimes reliant on dissection. Occurs in areas of commercial Pine forestry, with records largely from the north of the county only so far.
