Currant Clearwing Synanthedon tipuliformis (Clerck, 1759)
Status ..... Found on allotments, fruit farms and old gardens etc and at one time, probably much more common than it is now. The Currant Clearwing may well have declined in the county, following the increased use of pesticides and most recent records have been from the suburbs of Nottingham. However, it was recently found at two sites in the Mansfield area, so there may well be an element of under-recording. Comes well to pheremone lure.
