Coleophora artemisicolella (Bruand, 1855)
Status .....This moth is probably widespread over much of Nottinghamshire, yet this larval case represented the first county record, as far as we are aware. Coleophora artemisicolella was only recently recorded for the first time Lincolnshire, just yards over the Notts/Lincs border. That find by Martin Gray, prompted us to start searching and it took over two weeks and many hundreds of flower heads later, to find it. The larval case (made from an empty seedhead) proved to be one of the most difficult of all the Coleophoras to locate. Recorded again at Clipstone Old Quarter in February 2022.
