Pyrausta
purpuralis (Linnaeus,
1758) |
Status
.....Not common in Nottinghamshire and
most specimens are difficult to tell apart from the
similarly marked Pyrausta aurata. There was just
a single historical record for the Sherwood Forest area,
prior to one attracted to MV light at Clipstone Old
Quarter in 2010. Also known from the Idle Valley NR, but
the only regular site we know of for this moth, is a
grassy section of Nether Langwith Quarry, where it was
recorded in both 2013 and 2014. |
