Lunar Hornet Moth Sesia bembeciformis (Hübner, 1806)
Status .....Currently known from one site at Eakring. Fairly common over much of Nottinghamshire. Our thanks go to Martin Warne of the Lound Bird Club Moth Group, for allowing us to use his photograph of a freshly emerged adult, found at Lound Gravel Pits in June 2011.
