Ectoedemia heringi (Toll, 1934)
Status .....Genuinely uncommon and not an easy find, but recorded from Sherwood Forest NNR in 2009. It has since remained scarce across Sherwood Forest, but a number of exited leaf mines were found at Clipstone Old Quarter in December 2023 and tenanted mines at Cockglode Wood near Ollerton in October 2025.

Vacated mines are sometimes difficult to tell apart from some other late leaf miners creating similar mines, but in the mine of E. heringi, there is no slit on the underside of the mine to let the frass fall out, so the accumulated frass remains.
